The Ritz-Carlton - Salt Restaurant

Location

Amelia Island

Some projects feel like milestones, and this commission for The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island was one of them. Working in collaboration with Soho Art Consulting, I was asked to create a 48” x 48” artwork for Salt restaurant.

The inspiration came from one of my existing pieces, Faded. The composition tells that story through texture—darker shells representing the setting sun, while the softer beige tones reflect the glow of light on water. The shells were arranged in an organic circular formation, creating movement within the piece.

To bring this vision to life, Ellie at Scrub House Designs built a custom cradled board and oak frame, specifically for this project. Throughout the process, I worked closely with the design team, providing samples and progress updates to ensure the piece aligned with their vision.

After weeks of work in the studio, the final artwork was carefully packed and shipped, making its way to its new home at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. Seeing my work become part of such an iconic space—a place where people gather, dine, and create memories—is an honor that still feels surreal.
