Artist Reflection

This project exemplifies how personalized art can elevate a residential space, reflecting the homeowner's vision and enhancing the overall aesthetic. The collaborative process ensured that the artworks not only served as decorative elements but also as integral components of Margarite's home, adding depth and character to her living environment.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to create these pieces for Margarite’s home. Seeing my work become such an integral part of her space—and having the chance to expand the vision into a full triptych—was an incredibly rewarding experience.

Collaborating with clients who appreciate and connect with my art on such a deep level is what makes this work so fulfilling.

If you're looking to commission a custom artwork for your home in Florida or beyond, I'd love to collaborate.

It is even more amazing in person. Thank you so much. It's been about two years since I saw Katarina's artwork—I knew instantly that I wanted her shell art to be the central focus in our new home. Katarina, you are a true professional, extremely talented, and a sweet person. Thank you so much for creating this beautiful artwork for our new home.

From Statement Artwork to a Striking Triptych

Kalea Bay, Naples, Florida

Art has the power to transform a living space, reflecting personal taste and enhancing the ambiance of a home. This was exemplified in a recent collaboration with Margarite, a homeowner in Kalea Bay, Naples, Florida, who commissioned a series of custom artworks to serve as a focal point in her residence.

Project Context

Nestled along the Gulf Coast in North Naples, Kalea Bay is a waterfront community renowned for its luxurious high-rise living and breathtaking Gulf views. The development features five towers, each offering residents access to world-class amenities, including a 25,000-square-foot clubhouse, multiple resort-style pools, a state-of-the-art wellness center, and rooftop terraces with panoramic vistas.

The Vision

Margarite had a clear vision for her new living room: a statement piece that would encapsulate her aesthetic preferences and harmonize with the interior design. Having admired my previous work, she provided a rendering of how she envisioned the artwork within her space, demonstrating her commitment to creating a cohesive and personalized environment.

Collaborative Process

To ensure the artwork met Margarite's expectations, we conducted an in-person consultation at her residence. During this meeting, we:

  • Visualized the Artwork: By taping out the dimensions (66" x 72") on the wall, we assessed the scale and placement within the living room.

  • Reviewed Material Samples: Various backer fabrics and frame paint colors were presented to align the artwork with the room's decor.

This collaborative approach ensured that every detail resonated with Margarite's vision.

Creation and Installation

Over an eight-week period, I meticulously crafted the artwork, paying close attention to the selected materials and design elements. Upon completion, I personally delivered the piece to Margarite's home and coordinated with a professional installation team to ensure its proper placement.

Expansion to a Triptych

Several months later, Margarite reached out with a desire to expand the original concept into a triptych, creating a full feature wall. This involved commissioning two additional artworks, each measuring 72" x 36". To maintain consistency, I:

  • Created Mock-Ups: Provided visual representations to help Margarite envision the triptych's appearance.

  • Conducted On-Site Measurements: Revisited the residence to ensure precise dimensions and alignment with the existing piece.

  • Matched Materials: Sourced identical backer fabrics and frame finishes, a challenging yet essential task to achieve a seamless look.

The additional pieces, affectionately referred to by Margarite as "The Twins," were completed and installed by the end of 2024, culminating in a harmonious and impactful feature wall.
