In the realm of luxury interior design, the fusion of art and space can transform a house into a home that resonates with individuality. Such was the case with a recent project in Boca Raton, Florida, where I had the pleasure of collaborating with the esteemed firm, Decorators Unlimited, to create two bespoke artworks that complemented the residence's sophisticated ambiance.

The 'River' series pattern I created for this artwork.
The 'River' Series

The Vision

Decorators Unlimited, renowned for their turnkey, full-service approach to luxury interior design since 1985 , approached me with a clear vision for their client's home. They sought to adorn the transitional-style entryway with art that exuded organic movement. The request was for two pieces, each measuring 24" x 72", to be installed on either side of the doorway leading from the hallway into the main living area.

Crafting 'River'

Drawing inspiration from the concept of natural waterways, I embarked on creating the River series. This labor-intensive process involved meticulously placing each shell to form an organic pattern. The beauty of this method lies in its embrace of imperfection, allowing the natural shapes and sizes of the shells to dictate the composition, resulting in a piece that feels both dynamic and harmonious.

Design Harmony

The artwork was presented on a beige matte background paired with an espresso floater frame.

To ensure the artworks integrated with the home's aesthetic, we selected a beige matte background paired with an espresso floater frame. This combination provided a warm yet refined contrast, enhancing the textural elements of the shells while aligning with the neutral tones prevalent throughout the interior.

Installation and Impact

Upon completion, the artworks were installed by the skilled team at Decorators Unlimited, flanking the entryway and serving as a captivating introduction to the main living space. The elongated forms and flowing patterns of the pieces not only draw the eye but also invite guests to experience the artwork.
