When Kalisher Art Advisory reached out with a commission for Coast Rehoboth Beach, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, I was excited to bring my Shellscapes® into a hospitality setting. This project called for a custom 11” x 27” artwork, inspired by an existing design in my portfolio. The goal was to create a piece that felt organic, textural, and in harmony with the hotel’s coastal aesthetic.

The Vision
The client wanted an artwork featuring white Turritella shells on a classic linen backer, keeping the palette neutral and sophisticated. To ensure the final piece fit seamlessly into the space, I provided three distinct composition options for the client to review. Each design stayed true to the original inspiration while offering subtle variations in flow and movement.
The Process
Once the design was selected, I began the meticulous process of placing each Turritella shell by hand, allowing the natural shape of the shells to guide the composition. The repetitive placement creates a sense of movement, reminiscent of patterns found in nature.

After completing the piece, I sent high-resolution images to the client for final approval. With everything signed off, the artwork was carefully packed and shipped for custom framing before installation at The Coast Rehoboth Beach.
Final Thoughts
It’s always rewarding to see my work integrated into thoughtfully designed spaces, and this project was no exception. Knowing that this Shellscape® will be part of the guest experience at Tapestry Collection by Hilton—a brand that celebrates individuality - makes this commission even more special.
